A two-week parking enforcement trial to help improve road safety at key locations including schools, bus stops and bus lanes was launched on Monday (17th September) in South Gloucestershire. Conservatives campaign to keep car parking free

Conservative councillors have pledged to fight to retain free car parking as council policy across South Gloucestershire. They have tabled a motion to this month’s Full Council meeting calling on the council to retain free car parking as council policy now that all three political parties have recently started to run the council through a series of old style committees.

Councillors launch campaign against parking charges at Patchway station

Stoke Gifford campaigners have launched a campaign against the introduction of parking charges at Patchway station. The station’s owners – First Great Western – have notified South Gloucestershire Council that they plan to remove the free parking currently available and introduce £3 a day charging in September. The decision comes months after First Great Western dramatically increased parking charges at
