Tackling youth unemployment in South Gloucestershire

The coalition government’s £1bn Youth Contract scheme, which aims to tackle youth unemployment, has been launched today by the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. The Youth Contract aims to ensure that all jobless young people are earning or learning again before long-term damage is done. In South Gloucestershire, 1,340 18 to 24-year olds are currently in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance

Council to stage jobs fairs for care workers

South Gloucestershire Council, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, is holding two job fairs at the end of March for people interested in a career in Care. The events will be held on Wednesday 30th March at Yate Library, 44 West Walk, Yate and on Thursday 31st March at Kingswood Library, High Street, Kingswood. Both events start at 10am and run
