The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, is raising money for local charities over the Easter 2011 weekend by filling its fountain pool with colourful plastic chicks.
For a £1 donation to the shopping centre’s Fountain Fund, children can try to hook a chick from the pool. If they hook a chick with a winning number on the bottom, they will receive a voucher to collect a chocolate treat from the Thorntons store.
The Mall established The Fountain Charity Fund in March 2003. Administered by the Quartet Community Foundation, it provides grants to charitable organisations within a 25 mile radius of The Mall. Money thrown into The Mall’s fountain by shoppers – around £10,000 a year – provides the bulk of money in the Fountain Fund. The Fund is also be supplemented with proceeds from a range of fund-raising activities that take place at the centre.

- Good Friday 22nd April: 10am to 6pm
(Fish for chicks between 11am and 5pm) - Easter Saturday 23rd April: 9am to 8pm
(Fish for chicks between 10am and 6pm) - Easter Sunday 24th April: The Mall is CLOSED
- Easter Monday 25th April: 10am to 6pm
