Nominations for the the Chair of South Gloucestershire Council’s Community Awards 2011 are now open.
The awards scheme provides an opportunity to nominate people in South Gloucestershire who have made a difference to their communities.
Winners will be chosen by a panel which includes the Chair of South Gloucestershire Council, Cllr Janet Biggin and a representative from this year’s sponsors, Filton College.
They will then be invited to attend a special awards ceremony at BAWA, Filton, to celebrate their achievements.
Cllr Janet Biggin said: “The Community Awards scheme has been running since 2003 to celebrate the contribution local people make to life in South Gloucestershire. Every year these awards are becoming more successful and popular, and are a great way to celebrate the hard work and commitment of volunteers who display outstanding devotion in giving up their time and effort in voluntary work.”
Working closely with a number of organisations and individuals, the awards are a great opportunity to celebrate people whose hard work and commitment has benefited the community, and provides a great opportunity to thank them for their tireless efforts and dedication.
