Former Eastenders star Barbara Windsor will put the sparkle into Christmas when she switches on the Christmas Lights at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol on Thursday 4th November.
Ms Windsor, who will appear as Fairy Bowbells in Dick Whittington at The Bristol Hippodrome over the Christmas and New Year period, will press the plunger at 5:45pm, assisted by Peter Rowell, BBC Radio Bristol’s Afternoon Show presenter.
She said:
“I am so excited about performing in Bristol, firstly at The Mall and then as Fairy Bowbells at The Bristol Hippodrome. I’m looking forward to wishing everyone in Bristol a truly great Christmas.”
The star will switch on over 325,000 LED lights inside and outside The Mall, turning The Mall into a truly dazzling destination for Christmas shopping. Stores will stay open until 10pm every weekday evening throughout the run-up to Christmas.
The Mall’s Winter Wonderland, with its spectacular outdoor ice rink and Santa’s castle, will open a week later on Thursday 11th November.
