Filton police arrested a man within minutes of a robbery in Church View, Filton, on Monday September 28 2009.
It happened at around midday, when a shopkeeper was on his way to bank his takings.
The victim was grabbed and pushed to the floor in the attack. Local people came forward to give officers information at the scene.
Police searched the area, recovering the cash, and arrested a man nearby.
A 27-year-old man from Bristol has been charged with robbery and is due before Northavon Magistrates.
