Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a suspicious fire in a building in South Gloucestershire.
The incident happened at about 4.45pm on Wednesday August 5 in New Cheltenham Road at the former Fiveways offices and day centre in the Kingswood area.
Police originally assisted with traffic management at the scene as it was not thought to be suspicious.
However following a joint detailed examination of the building by fire investigators and the police crime scene investigators the fire is being investigated as suspicious.
Police say that there were workmen on site who reported the fire, which is believed to have started in a small storeroom and then spread throughout the whole building.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area before the fire broke and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or may have other information to help their enquiries.
Anyone able to help is asked to call Staple Hill CID on 0845 4567000.
Alternatively, anyone able to help can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name and never trace your call.
